Arrive at Tarata for your first night in your private 1st class retreat cabin. Complete with your own Hot Tub over looking the Rangitikei River. Enjoy a 2 course evening meal at the Captains table and a bottle of wine.
Wake up to the sound of the birds and a cooked breakfast delivered to your Retreat. Start the morning with a 4WD down to the river where your ‘ship’ awaits with your very own captain for the day.
Cruise down the Rangitikei River with a walk up to a secret waterfall. Float through scenes from the LOTR and enjoy a river side picnic Lunch and a swim.
Arrive mid afternoon at Kanuka Estate.
You will have this beautiful home all to your selves with million dollar views of the river and stunning surroundings. Enjoy a soak in your private Hot Tub on the edge of the cliff.
Nibbles will be provided and dinner and dessert will be organized for an easy help yourself meal to enjoy on your own.
Continental breakfast with fresh farm eggs will be supplied for you to enjoy your breakfast on the decking.
At a time that suits you, you will be taken in the 4WD down to the river to enjoy the second day of your cruise on a new beautiful section of the Rangitikei River. Picnic lunch provided.
After your day on the river return to Kanuka Estate for another luxury night with a help yourself dinner.

Day 1
*Arrive at Tarata.
*Settle into your private retreat with river views and your own hot tub.
*4WD tour around the farm and down to the river.
*Complimentary glass of wine with nibbles.
*2 course meal.
Day 2
Introductory to Fly-Fishing.
*cont breakfast basket for your stay
*casting lessons, rod set up and local knowledge about what flies to use.
*Set off on the river by raft to put your skills to the test and have a crack at hooking your first trout from the Rangitikei River!
*Arrive back at the lodge for a soak in the hot tub.
*Share your fishing stories from the day while enjoying a 2 course evening meal
Day 3
*Depart Tarata with a new addiction.
Arrive at Tarata 2pm
Check into our Treehouse Accommodation.
Come on a farm tour around all the animals, collect the eggs, feed the lambs, deer, goats, Saint Bernards,Pig and Sheep. Kids can go on Taratas ‘magic’ carpet Ride.
The next day (we will take your vehicle down to the take out where you will be camping) depart Tarata by Raft with your own personal Guide – we can run rafts and mini rafts (2 passengers) to have turns if they would like, very safe great fun just get a little wet. We have wet suits if required, thermals and river shoes.
The rafting is gentle Grade 1 and 2, incredible scenery. Explore a secret waterfall, stop for a Picnic lunch (we provide) and a swim…..depending on time of year, Go through scenes from LOTR.
Arrive at Camp Site (we will bring your bags down with 4WD to cabins) Nibbles and drinks by the River.
The cabins have two rooms one with a double and single bunks and the other a set of bunks and a single. They are lovely and clean and warm. Hammocks, sand pit and Toys and a swing to keep kids entertained.
We will cook you a BBQ and Camp Fire dinner with a camping dessert including marshmallows to roast.
The next day we will come down and cook you a cooked breakfast and when you are ready give you a 4WD back up to the top where your car will be waiting.
Arrive at Tarata 2pm
Check into our Treehouse Accommodation.
The next day we will come down and cook you breakfast and then back in the Raft to enjoy another day on a different 14km section of River – we will shuttle your vehicles to take out ready for you.
Arrive at Tarata 10am, Depart Tarata by Raft with your own personal Guide – we can run rafts and mini rafts (2 passengers) to have turns if they would like, very safe & great fun just get a little wet. We have wet suits if required, thermals and river shoes.

Arrive at Tarata Lodge. Settle in to your Treehouse accommodation. Fully self contained with stunning views. Relax in a Spa pool on the Cliffs edge.
Day 2
Meet and Greet Tarata’s animals on a Farm Tour. ‘Magic Carpet Ride” for the kids and an intro to fly fishing lesson for everyone.
Day 3
Family day on the gentle crystal clear Rangitikei River & LOTR scenes. Walk up to a secret waterfall. Stop for a Picnic Lunch (provided) and a refreshing swim. Test out your new Fly Fishing Skills.
Finish the day with a 2 course BBQ dinner and a Spa.
Day 4
Depart Tarata with new memories that will last a lifetime.
